In short
Good for
- Cold-weather camps: the down-topped cover feels less cold on the face
- Side and back sleepers who want a shaped, cushioned top on an air pillow
- Backpackers happy to carry about 140 g for the comfort
Strengths
- Down layer under a brushed, removable, machine-washable polyester cover
- Curved shape fits a sleeping bag hood and cradles the neck, which CleverHiker prefers to rectangular pillows
- 10 cm tall baffled air core with a non-slip base
- Therm-a-Rest's lifetime warranty on the pillow
Weaknesses
- Twist valve can let air out as you seal it, which CleverHiker found fiddly
- The down cover needs more careful washing than a synthetic one
- Heavier and bigger packed than Sea to Summit's Aeros Down
- Maker gives no packed size in litres or centimetres
