Our ratings (out of 10)

1 to 10, compared with the whole market. Each says what it's based on. How we score

Weight

From maker's figures 6/10

How much it adds to your pack. 6: A bit better than average.

Decathlon UK lists 135 g (brand shown as Simond), in the 120–199 g band. The stuff sack in the photos is printed 132 g and carries a Forclaz logo with the name Trek Pillow (same band). Broken Back Mountains also gives 135 g.

Packed size

From maker's figures 8/10

How much room it takes in your rucksack. 8: Clearly better than most.

Decathlon UK says 0.6 L once folded, the bottom of the 0.6–0.99 L band. No packed dimensions are published.

In short

Good for

  • Sleepers who like to stuff the cover with clothes instead of the air bladder
  • Shorter trips where 135 g and 0.6 L are no problem

Strengths

  • Cover and inflatable bladder separate: the cover washes in the machine at 30 °C
  • Cover can be filled with clothes if you leave the bladder at home
  • Firmness is adjustable by pressing the valve; 2-year warranty

Weaknesses

  • Heavier and bulkier than the ultralight pillows here: 135 g and 0.6 L
  • No straps or loops to fix it to a mat, so it goes in the hood of the bag (Broken Back Mountains)
  • Only 9 cm tall: too thin for a sleeper who needs more neck height (Broken Back Mountains)
  • A Decathlon buyer finds the bladder fiddly because it is not held firmly in the cover
  • Not puncture-proof (Decathlon): repair patches are sold separately
  • No independent UK test: comfort and durability are estimates, not reviewed scores
