In short
Good for
- Cold, wet day walks and winter hill walking where you want a lightly insulated, waterproof glove
- Skiing, cycling and dog walking in cold weather, as Sealskinz markets it
- Wearing over a thin liner on colder days, if the glove alone proves not warm enough for you
Strengths
- Sealed Aquasealz waterproof and breathable membrane, with a polyester lining and zero liner movement (the liner doesn't pull out when you take the glove off)
- Pre-curved fingers, a thumb wiper, and touchscreen-compatible index finger and thumb
- Sold in S to XXL and in black or olive
- Sealskinz describes the goatskin leather palm as especially durable
Weaknesses
- The palm material isn't consistent between sellers: Sealskinz.com lists a 50% polyester and 50% polyurethane palm, while GO Outdoors and Millets list a 100% leather palm (the Sealskinz description mentions goatskin)
- Sealskinz doesn't publish a weight, and the shop and magazine figures (108 g and 117 g) disagree, so weight is an estimate, not a reviewed score
- Not machine washable (Sealskinz care label: no machine wash, no tumble dry)
- No independent hands-on test of the men's glove found, so warmth, dexterity and durability are estimates, not reviewed scores
