Our ratings (out of 10)
1 to 10, compared with the whole market. Each says what it's based on. How we score
Weight
From maker's figures 7/10How much it adds to your pack. 7: Better than most.
Robens gives 98 g (Alpinetrek gives the same), in the 60-119 g band.
Packed size
From maker's figures 6/10How much room it takes in your rucksack. 6: A bit better than average.
Robens gives the pack size as 7.5 x 9 cm and the size, 14.5 x 7.5 cm (width x height), is the stove opened out, so 7.5 x 9 cm is the folded stove, with no third size. Worked as a roll 9 cm long and 7.5 cm across: 3.14 x 3.75 x 3.75 x 9 = 398 cm3, about 0.4 L; as a box of 9 x 7.5 x 7.5 cm it is 0.51 L. Both are in the 0.2-0.59 L band.
Boil speed (still air)
From maker's figures 6/10How fast the maker says it boils 1 litre in still air. Wind slows every stove: see Wind performance. 6: A bit better than average.
Robens gives 4 min 10 s (250 s) for 1 litre, in the 230-299 s band. Alpinetrek's listing says 4.1 minutes (246 s), the same band. Robens gives no water temperature or wind.
Wind performance
Estimate from maker's specs: windshield in the box 3/10How well it keeps boiling in a breeze, as sold, without an extra windshield. 3: Below average. Fine for some trips, not others.

In short
Good for
- Solo and two-person camping where you want a remote stove for a steady pot at 98 g
- Trips with larger pots or a frying pan, on a hose rather than a canister-top stove
- Three-season trips with a windshield carried separately
Strengths
- 98 g for a remote stove with a braided hose (Robens)
- Robens quotes 3,470 W output and 4 min 10 s for 1 litre
- Broad pot support and large burner top (Robens)
- Fold-away foot and pot supports, with a mesh bag in the box
Weaknesses
- No windshield and no wind test: the one reviewer who comments expects it to lack in wind, so you will want your own screen (never wrap one round the canister)
- About 0.4 L packed, bulkier than a canister-top stove
- No regulator and no preheat tube, and Robens gives no cold-weather rating, so we do not mark it winter-ready
- No igniter: carry a lighter
- Outdoorsy Girl says the carry bag snags on the folded points
