Our ratings (out of 10)
1 to 10, compared with the whole market. Each says what it's based on. How we score
Weight
From maker's figures 9/10How much it adds to your pack. 9: Among the best you can buy for this.
Decathlon's pages give two weights: 260 g in the spec table (no size) and 212 g in size M in the feature text. We store the heavier one. Both are under 280 g, so band 5 either way.
Rain protection
From maker's figures 3/10How well the fabric and seams keep out heavy, long rain, when new. 3: Below average. Fine for some trips, not others.
Decathlon rates the coating 5,000 mm (Schmerber), band 2, and says only that the 'main seams' are sealed, which reads as critical seams only, so the seam cap is 2 at most. The score is 2 on either reading: fully taped seams would still sit in the 5,000 mm band.
Warmth
Estimate from maker's specs: 2-layer build with a hanging liner 3/10How much warmth the jacket itself adds. Most shells add little: wear a warm layer under them. 3: Below average. Fine for some trips, not others.

What reviewers say (out of 10)
Ratings marked * are from reviews and are not part of the trip score. They are reviewers' scores, not our own measurements. How we score
Breathability*
Estimate: only 1 review about breathability (fewer than the 3 we need, so never above 8) 6/10How dry it keeps you from sweat on the move, uphill.
1 review on breathability, e.g. "Not breathable so you get very sweaty if walking with it zipped up, but I think a common problem with many similar products".
In short
Good for
- Light rain on short, low-level walks (Decathlon says up to 2 hours at a moderate pace)
- Dog walking, commuting and festivals
Strengths
- Light for a shell: 260 g by Decathlon's spec table, or 212 g in size M by its feature text
- Stows in its own pocket
- Full front zip, hood and 3 pockets
Weaknesses
- 5,000 mm coating is the bottom of the second-lowest band; Decathlon limits it to light rain
- Decathlon says only the main seams are sealed
- No pit zips; Decathlon says it is not recommended for intense exercise
- Decathlon's pages disagree on weight: 212 g in size M in the features, 260 g in the spec table
- Decathlon's pages disagree on wind: the features say windproof (winds up to 70 km/h), the spec table says not windproof
- Decathlon's pages disagree on breathability: the features say RET 12 is breathable, the spec table lists the 12 to 20 band as poorly breathable
- No independent test found, so weather protection and durability are estimates, not reviewed scores
