Our ratings (out of 10)
1 to 10, compared with the whole market. Each says what it's based on. How we score
Weight
From maker's figures 4/10How much it adds to your pack. 4: A bit below average.
Decathlon lists 480 g in size L, in the 470-649 g band. The size M weight isn't published.
Rain protection
From maker's figures 3/10How well the fabric and seams keep out heavy, long rain, when new. 3: Below average. Fine for some trips, not others.
Decathlon rates the coating at 5,000 mm (Schmerber), which is band 2. Its feature list says '100% taped seams', but its text on the same page says it made 'the main rain-exposed seams' waterproof, which reads as critical seams only. The page contradicts itself, so seam taping is entered as not stated. The score is 2 on either reading: the seam cap is 2 at most, and fully taped seams would still leave the 5,000 mm band at 2.
Warmth
Estimate from maker's specs: 2-layer build with a hanging liner 3/10How much warmth the jacket itself adds. Most shells add little: wear a warm layer under them. 3: Below average. Fine for some trips, not others.

In short
Good for
- Occasional walkers and dog walkers in light to moderate rain
- A cheap spare jacket to keep in the car or a day bag
Strengths
- Four pockets: two zipped hand pockets, a watertight chest pocket and an inner Velcro pocket
- Sizes S to 4XL
- Decathlon's 2-year warranty
Weaknesses
- 5,000 mm is the lowest waterproof band: Decathlon describes it for light and prolonged rain
- Seam taping is unclear: '100% taped seams' in the features, but 'main rain-exposed seams' in the text
- No pit zips or other ventilation (Decathlon lists ventilation as low, without zip ventilation)
- Weight is for size L; the size M weight isn't published
- No independent review found, so weather protection and durability are estimates, not reviewed scores
