Our ratings (out of 10)
1 to 10, compared with the whole market. Each says what it's based on. How we score
Weight for its size
From maker's figures 5/10How much it adds to your pack for the amount it holds. 5: Does the job. Average for wild-camping gear.
Primus's EU page gives 270 g and 1 L (12.5 cm across, 13.5 cm high), and its other regional page (primusequipment.com, priced in SEK) says the same; its UK page gives no weight, so 270 g is the only brand figure. Primus doesn't say whether the 270 g includes the mesh sack. Capacity: Primus lists a frying pan in the box but gives it no capacity (the only volume it states is 1 L, for the pot), and the pan doubles as the lid, so the capacity is the pot's 1 L. 270 g for 1 L = 270 g per litre, in the 220-299 g/L band. Counting a pan could only lower the figure, so this is the lower-scoring reading. Ultralight Outdoor Gear lists 272 g; a 2020 Australian Geographic test gave 300 g (300 g per litre would be a 2), but that is a magazine's figure, not Primus's.

In short
Good for
- One or two walkers boiling water and cooking simple meals in one small set
- Frying an egg or a sausage in the lid, which doubles as a small frying pan
- Packing a stove and a gas canister inside (Primus says an Essential Trail Stove and a 230 g canister fit)
Strengths
- 270 g for a 1 L pot with a frying-pan lid, a mesh sack and folding handles on both pieces
- Non-stick surfaces on the pot and the pan lid make cleaning easier (Primus)
- Hard-anodised aluminium spreads heat well (Primus)
- Fits an Essential Trail Stove and a 230 g gas canister inside (Primus)
- A small pouring spout on the pot (Australian Geographic)
Weaknesses
- 270 g per litre, a middle result for weight against its size
- No volume marks inside the pot (Australian Geographic)
- Primus's pages disagree about the coating: the description says ceramic non-stick, the specification list says PTFE
- The frying-pan lid is small and Primus gives it no capacity
- No independent evidence yet for this version on cooking or durability
- Primus's UK page gives no weight (its EU page does)
