In short
Good for
- Hikers who want a bottle that weighs almost nothing and rolls up when empty
- A second bottle or spare capacity for dry stretches
- Use with any threaded Platypus lid or drink tube kit (Platypus)
Strengths
- 29 g for 1 L (29 g per litre), well under the 100 g/L line for the top weight score
- Plain closure cap, one moving part
- Same neck thread as Platypus caps and drink tube kits (Platypus)
- Dishwasher safe when fully expanded (Platypus)
Weaknesses
- Platypus gives no rolled-up size, so we cannot score packed size
- Several UK shops still list older, heavier figures (35 to 42 g and 33 cm tall), so check the weight on the bottle you receive
- No independent test of this version found, so ease of use and durability are estimates, not reviewed scores
- Soft body: it does not stand without water in it
