In short

Good for

  • Solo walkers boiling water for tea, coffee and boil-in-the-bag meals
  • Nesting a small gas stove inside (Optimus: designed to sit inside its Terra HE cook sets)
  • Pouring boiling water without a spill, thanks to the spout

Strengths

  • 153 g for 0.7 L, 219 g per litre
  • Wide 15 cm base with a lid and spout; stable on a stove (ReviewOutdoorGear)
  • Folding handle and a mesh bag
  • Hard-anodised aluminium, no coating to wear off

Weaknesses

  • Only for boiling water: it isn't made for cooking (ReviewOutdoorGear)
  • Plastic handle grip and knob, so keep it off an open fire (ReviewOutdoorGear)
  • Anodised surface will scratch with heavy use (ReviewOutdoorGear)
  • Optimus's international site still lists it
  • Shops give different weights: 146 g to 164 g (Optimus gives 153 g)
