Our ratings (out of 10)
1 to 10, compared with the whole market. Each says what it's based on. How we score
Weight
From maker's figures 8/10How much it adds to your pack. 8: Clearly better than most.
OEX gives 75 g, the same on the Millets, Blacks and GO Outdoors pages. That sits in the 60-119 g band.
Packed size
From maker's figures 7/10How much room it takes in your rucksack. 7: Better than most.
OEX gives the folded stove as 4.8 x 8.2 cm (the same on the Millets, Blacks and GO Outdoors pages), worked as a roll, 8.2 cm long and 4.8 cm across: 3.14 x 2.4 x 2.4 x 8.2 = 148 cm3, about 0.148 L, in the 0.08-0.19 L band. The shops' photos show a burner bowl about 5 cm across, so a roll is the likely shape. The open stove is 11.7 x 9.2 cm. If the folded size meant 8.2 cm across the volume would be about 0.25 L, one band lower.
Boil speed (still air)
From maker's figures 7/10How fast the maker says it boils 1 litre in still air. Wind slows every stove: see Wind performance. 7: Better than most.
OEX gives 3 min 45 s for 1 litre: 225 s, in the 190-229 s band. The shop copy does not give the water temperature or the wind, and no independent test of the Nasu Micro was found to check it.
Wind performance
Estimate from maker's specs: windshield in the box 3/10How well it keeps boiling in a breeze, as sold, without an extra windshield. 3: Below average. Fine for some trips, not others.
Estimate from maker's specs
In short
Good for
- Walkers who want a pressure regulator for cold mornings without paying for a Fire-Maple or SOTO
- A backup stove in the pack
Strengths
- 75 g and about 0.148 L folded (4.8 x 8.2 cm)
- Built-in pressure regulator valve; OEX says it performs from 25 °C to -15 °C (its own claim, untested by anyone independent)
- OEX gives 3 min 45 s for 1 litre and 2,500 W output
Weaknesses
- No independent review found, so wind and simmer control are estimates, not reviewed scores
- No built-in igniter: OEX lists ignition as manual, so carry a lighter or ferro rod
- OEX recommends Coleman C300 cartridges and says nothing about other cartridge sizes
- The -15 °C figure comes from OEX's shop copy only; no test or temperature standard is given
