Our ratings (out of 10)
1 to 10, compared with the whole market. Each says what it's based on. How we score
Weight
From maker's figures 2/10How much it adds to your pack. This is the whole tent: two people sharing can split it. 2: A weak point.
Norrøna lists the tent at 2,900 g (style 1817-22), in the 2.7 kg+ band. Alpinetrek gives 3,100 g as the packed weight and Outdoor Magazin weighed 3,095 g, which land in the same band. Shared by two it is about 1.45 kg each at Norrøna's figure.
Rain protection
From maker's figures 7/10How well it keeps out heavy, long rain. 7: Better than most.
Norrøna gives a flysheet water column of at least 2,000 mm, in the 2,000–2,999 mm band, and a floor of at least 6,000 mm, over 2,000 mm, so no point comes off. Alpinetrek's table gives the same figures.
Wind
Estimate from maker's specs: maker's season rating (fewer than 3 reviews about wind) 5/10How steady it stays in strong wind on open ground. 5: Does the job. Average for wild-camping gear.
No published review says how it copes with wind, so this is an estimate from the maker's season rating.
Space
Estimate from maker's specs: inner floor area per person 3/10Room to lie, sit up and keep kit inside. 3: Below average. Fine for some trips, not others.
Estimate from maker's specs
Packed size
From maker's figures 6/10How much room it takes in your rucksack. 6: A bit better than average.
Outdoor Magazin's data table gives a packed size of 7.2 L (poles 42 cm long), in the 7–9.9 L band. Norrøna's own page publishes no packed size, so the figure is the magazine's, not the maker's.
In short
Good for
- Two people who want a roomy, storm-proof freestanding tent for three-season camps and mild winters, and don't mind the weight
- Camps where the weight can be split between two packs (about 1.55 kg each)
- Warm nights when the inner can be pitched alone for insect protection
Strengths
- Freestanding, and the inner can be pitched on its own
- Two doors, each with its own vestibule, big enough for packs and a cooking corner (Outdoor Magazin)
- Steep walls and a 105 cm high inner, 220 x 130 cm (Outdoor Magazin)
- Stood up to storm gusts and heavy rain in Outdoor Magazin's test, which gave it its top rating (07/2025)
- Flysheet silicone-coated on both sides (Norrøna), with a 6,000 mm floor
- Made from recycled materials (Outdoor Magazin)
Weaknesses
- Heavy for a tent used by hikers: 2,900 g by Norrøna, 3,100 g packed by Alpinetrek and 3,095 g weighed by Outdoor Magazin
- Flysheet is rated 2,000 mm, one band below the top for rain protection
- Floor area isn't published and Outdoor Magazin measured only about 1.9 m² usable, tight for two plus kit
- Only one independent test found, so wind, pitching and durability are estimates, not reviewed scores
- Norrøna publishes no packed size and no floor area, so packed size rests on one magazine's figure and space is an estimate, not a reviewed score
