Our ratings (out of 10)
1 to 10, compared with the whole market. Each says what it's based on. How we score
Brightness
From maker's figures 3/10How much light it gives at full power, for finding your way in the dark. 3: Below average. Fine for some trips, not others.
NEBO's headline figure is 550 lumens, but that Turbo mode runs in 30-second bursts, so it doesn't count. The highest level NEBO times for longer is High at 200 lumens (30 minutes on the spot beam, 25 minutes on the flood): the 150–299 band. No test standard is stated (brand's own figure).
Runtime
From maker's figures 2/10How long one charge or set of batteries lasts at a level you can walk and cook by. 2: A weak point.
The longest NEBO gives for a mode of 80 lumens or more, apart from the 30-second Turbo, is Medium on the spot beam (100 lumens) for 1 hour: under 2 hours. High (200 lumens) lasts 30 minutes. Low (15 lumens in the mode list, 25 lumens in the page's table, for 2.33 hours) is under 80 lumens either way, so it doesn't count. The flood light's Low is 50 lumens for 50 minutes in the table, also under 80.
Weight
From maker's figures 7/10How much it adds to your pack and your head. 7: Better than most.
NEBO lists 85 g including the strap: the 50–89 g band. Ultralight Outdoor Gear shows 52 g and Heinnie 85 g; we band NEBO's own figure.
In short
Good for
- A back-up or camp light for a short trip: 85 g with the strap, and it clips to a cap brim
- Close-up camp jobs, with a spot beam and a separate flood light
- Light use after dark on easy ground, in short stretches
Strengths
- 85 g with the strap (NEBO's figure); the lamp unit is 73 x 31 x 26 mm
- Spot beam (75 m on Turbo) plus a separate flood light and a red mode
- Detachable cap-light clip with 130° of tilt
- USB-C rechargeable, with a battery charging indicator and mode memory
- PowerSave lockout stops it switching on in a bag
Weaknesses
- The 550-lumen Turbo lasts 30 seconds at a time; the sustained maximum is 200 lumens for 30 minutes
- Only 1 hour at 100 lumens, and the built-in battery means no spare cells
- The flood light is short-lived: 25 minutes on High and 50 minutes on Low, and the red mode runs 50 minutes
- IPX4: splash-proof only, not for a dunk
- Only one independent review of this version, so comfort and beam are estimates, not reviewed scores
