Our ratings (out of 10)
1 to 10, compared with the whole market. Each says what it's based on. How we score
Brightness
From maker's figures 3/10How much light it gives at full power, for finding your way in the dark. 3: Below average. Fine for some trips, not others.
NEBO's headline figure is 450 lumens, but that Turbo mode runs in 30-second bursts (the light drops back to the previous mode to protect the battery), so it doesn't count. The highest level NEBO gives for a full hour is High at 150 lumens: the 150–299 band. No test standard is stated (brand's own figure).
Runtime
From maker's figures 2/10How long one charge or set of batteries lasts at a level you can walk and cook by. 2: A weak point.
The only mode of 80 lumens or more that NEBO gives a time for, apart from the 30-second Turbo, is High (150 lumens) for 1 hour: under 2 hours. Medium is 50 lumens for 2 hours and Low 15 lumens for 3 hours (the page's mode table says 5), both under 80 lumens, so they don't count. The red and green modes run 10 hours each.
Weight
From maker's figures 7/10How much it adds to your pack and your head. 7: Better than most.
NEBO lists 85 g including the strap: the 50–89 g band. Ultralight Outdoor Gear shows 49 g and Heinnie 84 g; we band NEBO's own figure.
In short
Good for
- A back-up or camp light for a short trip: 85 g with the strap, and it clips to a cap brim
- Night-vision-friendly use around camp, with red and green modes that run 10 hours each
- Light use after dark on easy ground: 150 lumens for 1 hour
Strengths
- 85 g with the strap (NEBO's figure); the lamp unit is 73 x 31 x 26 mm
- Detachable cap-light clip with 130° of tilt, so it works as a head torch or a cap light
- Red and green modes (10 hours each) keep your night vision
- USB-C rechargeable, with a battery charging indicator
- PowerSave lockout stops it switching on in a bag
Weaknesses
- The 450-lumen Turbo lasts 30 seconds at a time; the sustained maximum is 150 lumens for 1 hour
- Only 1 hour at 150 lumens, and the battery is built in, so there are no spare cells
- IPX4: splash-proof only, not for a dunk
- No independent review of this version yet, so comfort and beam are estimates, not reviewed scores
