Our ratings (out of 10)
1 to 10, compared with the whole market. Each says what it's based on. How we score
Warmth
Estimate from maker's specs: insulated glove 7/10How warm they keep your hands at camp and on the move. 7: Better than most.
Estimate from maker's specs
Weight
From maker's figures 8/10How much they add to your pack. 8: Clearly better than most.
65 g for the pair, Montane's figure (Sportsshoes repeats it): the 60-109 g band, just inside it.
Waterproofing
From maker's figures 4/10How well they keep your hands dry and the wind out, from how they are made. 4: A bit below average.
Pertex Quantum outer with a PFC-free water-repellent finish (DWR) that Montane says 'sheds moisture': a water-repellent finish only. Montane's own page makes no windproof or waterproof claim. Some shops call it windproof, and Absolute Snow's page wrongly lists a waterproof membrane: neither is Montane's claim.
