In short
Good for
- Walkers who want carbon's low weight in a telescopic pole that still adjusts from 100 to 135 cm
- Long days on firm paths and mountain trails where swing weight matters
- Trekking-pole shelters that need poles reaching 135 cm
Strengths
- 196 g per pole, 392 g a pair, in the 300-449 g band
- Aluminium upper section with carbon middle and lower sections (HTS 6.5 and PRC 1000)
- Wide 100-135 cm range on Speed Lock 2 Plus levers; SectionHiker found them very reliable
- Slim Verticon foam grip with a foam extension; the grip and D-Loop Mesh Strap weigh 28 g together (Leki)
- Carbide Flex Tip that SectionHiker says can bend up to 30 degrees without damaging the shaft
Weaknesses
- Packs to 68 cm, longer than a folding pole
- SectionHiker found the grip narrow at the top for medium-sized hands
- Leki says it is weight-optimised, needs particularly skilful and careful use, and is not for skiing
- Lock, grip and durability scores are blank: only one independent test found
