In short
Good for
- Fast hiking and long days where water should sit in a pack strap or vest pocket
- A light 500 mL bottle that drinks through a bite valve without taking your pack off
- Fuelling on the move: the 42 mm opening takes ice and drink mix
Strengths
- 46 g for 500 mL: 92 g per litre
- Bite valve seals itself after each sip
- SpeedFill flip-top cap opens with one hand for quick refills
- 42 mm opening for ice and drink mixes
- Flat, pinch-welded base and a tapered shape made to slot into vest and pack pockets
- Shrinks as you drink, so less water slops about
Weaknesses
- A soft flask made for vest and pack pockets (HydraPak), so it is not a stand-up bottle for camp
- No independent test found, so ease of use and durability are estimates, not reviewed scores
- HydraPak gives no rolled-up size, so we cannot score packed size
