Our ratings (out of 10)
1 to 10, compared with the whole market. Each says what it's based on. How we score
Brightness
From maker's figures 2/10How much light it gives at full power, for finding your way in the dark. 2: A weak point.
Decathlon gives 120 lumens as the top output, with no test standard stated (the brand's own figure): under 150 lumens, the lowest band.
Runtime
From maker's figures 5/10How long one charge or set of batteries lasts at a level you can walk and cook by. 5: Does the job. Average for wild-camping gear.
The only mode of 80 lumens or more is the strong white mode, 120 lumens for 4 hours: the 4–5.9 h band. Decathlon gives 17 hours for the economy white mode, but does not give its lumens, so it can't count as 80 lumens or more. Its specification table says up to 20 hours without naming a mode; we use the 4 hours.
Weight
From maker's figures 7/10How much it adds to your pack and your head. 7: Better than most.
Decathlon lists 72 g with the battery, in the 50–89 g band.
In short
Good for
- A cheap, light spare torch for camp chores and a first night walk
- Trips where you can recharge from a power bank over micro-USB
Strengths
- 72 g with the battery, with a removable, washable band that fits adults, children and mountain helmets
- One button that works with gloves and doesn't switch on in a bag (Decathlon)
- 17 hours in economy mode, and a 1150 mAh battery that charges in about 2.5-3 hours
- 2-year Decathlon warranty
Weaknesses
- Only 120 lumens for 4 hours, and a 25 m range: enough for paths, not for fast or rough ground
- Charges over micro-USB, not USB-C; Decathlon says the cable is supplied, but one buyer says it was left out of the box
- The battery is built in, so no spare cells
- IPX4: splash-proof only; the lumen figure is Decathlon's own, with no test standard
- Comfort and beam are estimates, not reviewed scores: we found too few independent reviews
