Our ratings (out of 10)
1 to 10, compared with the whole market. Each says what it's based on. How we score
Weight
From maker's figures 4/10How much it adds to your pack. This is the whole tent: two people sharing can split it. 4: A bit below average.
Ferrino gives a minimum weight of 2 kg (maximum 2.2 kg), at the 2.0 kg start of the 2.0–2.69 kg band.
Rain protection
From maker's figures 7/10How well it keeps out heavy, long rain. 7: Better than most.
Fly 2,000 mm HH is in the 2,000–2,999 band; the 2,500 mm floor is over 2,000 mm, so nothing is taken off. Seams are taped.
Wind
Estimate from maker's specs: maker's season rating (fewer than 3 reviews about wind) 5/10How steady it stays in strong wind on open ground. 5: Does the job. Average for wild-camping gear.
No published review says how it copes with wind, so this is an estimate from the maker's season rating.
Space
Estimate from maker's specs: inner floor area per person 7/10Room to lie, sit up and keep kit inside. 7: Better than most.
Estimate from maker's specs
Packed size
From maker's figures 4/10How much room it takes in your rucksack. 4: A bit below average.
Packs to 40 cm long x 18 cm across: 3.1416 x 9 x 9 x 40 = 10,179 cm³, so 10.18 L, in the 10–14.9 L band.
What reviewers say (out of 10)
Ratings marked * are from reviews and are not part of the trip score. They are reviewers' scores, not our own measurements. How we score
Pitching*
Estimate: only 1 review about pitching (fewer than the 3 we need, so never above 8) 8/10How quickly and easily one person can pitch it, including in wind and rain.
1 review on pitching, e.g. "Il montaggio della tenda è stato molto rapido grazie al sistema di paleria precollegata".
Condensation*
Estimate: only 2 reviews about condensation (fewer than the 3 we need, so never above 8) 8/10How dry it stays inside on still, damp nights; higher is drier.
2 reviews on condensation, e.g. "cuffie di ventilazione che permettono di avere una buona circolazione".
Durability*
Estimate: only 1 review about durability (fewer than the 3 we need, so never above 8) 8/10How well the fabric, poles, zips and seams hold up over seasons of use.

In short
Good for
- Two people who want a roomy, light-ish tent for spring to autumn trips at modest height
- Long-distance walkers and cyclists who need two doors and two porches
- Campers on a budget who want a well known brand
Strengths
- Freestanding on three colour-coded 7001 T6 aluminium poles, inner first, striking in under 5 minutes (Mountainreview)
- 210 x 130 cm lying area and about 105 cm peak height; Brotto says it gives 10 cm more each way than a standard tent
- Two doors and two porches, each about 60 cm deep, big enough for a rucksack and a stove
- Fly pitch height adjusts with buckles, so airflow can be set to the weather
- Minimum weight 2 kg and 40 x 18 cm packed
- Floor corners have three layers and seams are taped
Weaknesses
- Fly is rated 2,000 mm HH, lower than the 3,000 mm+ of many budget tents
- Mountainreview would not use it in serious rain or snow because of the light fabrics
- A bit tight for large or tall people (Mountainreview)
- Only two small inner pockets, both at opposite ends (Brotto)
- No independent wind or durability test found, so those are unproven
