In short

Good for

  • Ultralight backpackers who still want some neck support
  • Side sleepers who want a pillow under 60 g that stays under the head
  • Use on a smooth air mat: eyelets let you cord it down

Strengths

  • 50 g and 0.24 L: about the size of a tennis ball
  • Cut-away shoulder edge and baffles keep the head from sliding
  • Soft, quiet stretch-polyester cover with no crinkle (Kampeermeneer and Pack & Trail, on the earlier version)
  • Eyelets for fixing it to a mat
  • 5-year warranty from Exped

Weaknesses

  • Thin cover with no padded top: firmer and less cosy than hybrid pillows (Treeline, Pack & Trail)
  • Slippery on the underside (Treeline)
  • 10 cm tall: Pack & Trail finds it almost too tall for back sleeping when fully inflated
  • Valve takes practice to deflate
  • Needs care to avoid punctures (Live for the Outdoors)
  • Not enough evidence yet on long-term durability
