Our ratings (out of 10)

1 to 10, compared with the whole market. Each says what it's based on. How we score

Weight for its size

From maker's figures 8/10

How much it adds to your pack for the amount it holds. 8: Clearly better than most.

Evernew's page text gives 95 g and 600 ml (with scales), the same figures as Evernew's Japanese online shop page for ECA532. (The page's browser tab title wrongly names another pot (Ti Pasta pot 1000), but its heading, code ECA532 and photo are the 0.6 L pot.) 95 g for 0.6 L = 158 g per litre, in the 150-219 g/L band. Ultralight Outdoor Gear lists 91 g (152 g per litre, same band). Evernew doesn't say whether the 95 g includes the lid; its photo shows the pot with a lid, so Evernew's figure is kept and banded as given.

Cooking and ease of use

Estimate from maker's specs: what it is made of 3/10

How evenly it heats, whether food sticks or burns, cleaning, and the handles, lid, pouring and steadiness on a small stove. 3: Below average. Fine for some trips, not others.

Estimate from maker's specs

In short

Good for

  • Solo walkers and speed hikers who mainly boil water for dehydrated meals, tea and coffee
  • Climbers who want the lightest 600 ml pot in Evernew's range
  • Use on a stove with a wide burner, where the flat 124 mm base catches the flame

Strengths

  • 95 g for 0.6 L, 158 g per litre
  • 0.3 mm pure titanium, made in Japan, with a wide flat base to catch the flame (Evernew)
  • Silicone-covered folding handles, a lid with its own handle and 200 and 400 ml marks (BE-PAL)
  • Compact at 124 mm across and 52 mm deep

Weaknesses

  • Thin 0.3 mm wall: titanium this thin can dent
  • 600 ml is small for cooking a meal as well as boiling water
  • No independent test or review found, so cooking and durability are estimates, not reviewed scores
  • Only one UK shop found; Evernew has no UK shop of its own
