Our ratings (out of 10)
1 to 10, compared with the whole market. Each says what it's based on. How we score
Weight
From maker's figures 10/10How much it adds to your pack. 10: The best you can buy for this.
Evernew gives 20 g for the set: the BLUENOTE+ burner (EBY637) at 13 g and the pre-heating plate (EBY638) at 7 g, so the burner alone is 13 g, the same band. Ultralight Outdoor Gear lists 19 g (shop figure). It is ready to cook on without a stand: Evernew says the cup sits straight on the side-burner, so no trivet is needed.
Packed size
From maker's figures 8/10How much room it takes in your rucksack. 8: Clearly better than most.
Evernew gives the burner as 50 mm across and 32 mm high, and the plate as 62 mm across and 7 mm high. Stacked as one cylinder 6.2 cm across and 3.9 cm high (the burner on the plate): 3.14 x 3.1 x 3.1 x 3.9 = 118 cm3, about 0.118 L. Worked as two separate cylinders (burner 63 cm3, plate 21 cm3) it is 84 cm3, 0.084 L, just over the 0.08 L line. Both are in the 0.08-0.19 L band. Ultralight Outdoor Gear lists 4.5 x 3.8 cm, a shop figure we do not use.

In short
Good for
- Very light solo kits: 20 g for burner and plate, designed to nest inside Evernew's 400FD titanium cup
- Boiling about 300 ml for a drink or an instant meal
- Anyone who wants a stove that needs no separate pot stand
Strengths
- 20 g for the set (Evernew)
- Side-burner design: no pot stand or trivet needed, because the cup sits straight on the burner (Evernew)
- The pre-heating plate lets you start the burner without waiting to see the main flame, which Evernew says helps in daytime, when the flame is hard to see
- Evernew says it boils about 300 ml with one 15 ml fill in under 5 minutes
- Made in Japan
Weaknesses
- Aluminium, not titanium, and the burner holds only 15 ml of fuel, enough for about one small boil
- Evernew designed it for small cups about 12 cm across and the Ti 400FD cup, which is not in the box; larger pots are not what it is for
- No flame control and no windscreen in the set
- We found no independent test of it, so wind and control are estimates, not reviewed scores, and the boil time is a brand figure for a smaller volume than we score
- Evernew says it is for alcohol fuel only
