In short
Good for
- Duke of Edinburgh and first wild camps on a tight budget
- Summer and three-season trips with a load around 12 to 15 kg
Strengths
- 1,380 g, in the 1,000–1,499 g weight band, light for 65 litres
- Ventilated back, a large lid pocket and big side pockets
- Bottom access to the main compartment
- One reviewer carried 12 to 17 kg on it on wild camping trips and found it comfortable
Weaknesses
- Real capacity is nearer 55 to 60 litres, by one reviewer's count
- Rain cover is not included and the fabric is not waterproof
- One reviewer says other buyers report the support bars bending or snapping (his own did not)
- No mesh or hip-belt pockets and the zips are clunky
- The hip belt tightens in an unusual direction and a shoulder-strap end can slip, by one reviewer's account
- The frame is described only by reviewers (aluminium bars): the shops give no frame spec
- Comfort and durability are estimates, not reviewed scores: too few reviews that carried a camping load
