In short
Good for
- Fast walking, trail running and night walks where a light, stable lamp matters
- Camp use with a dimmable red flood that keeps night vision
- Road sections and shared lanes: the rear red light and strobe make you visible from behind
Strengths
- 78 g with the battery; the 10 mm front unit sits flush with the band
- Stable fit with no bounce, and a moisture-wicking band
- Rear red flood and strobe on the battery pack
- USB-C charging in about 2 hours, with pass-through charging from a power bank while in use
- Lock mode, a 1-hour reserve and a battery indicator
Weaknesses
- Only 4 hours at full power by BioLite's figure, and The Great Outdoors' tester got about 2 hours on a pre-production sample
- IPX4: splashproof, not for heavy rain or immersion
- The 1000 mAh battery is built in: no AAA fallback or swappable cell on a long trip
- The lens has no lip, which caused glare for a glasses-wearing tester
- The tilt clicks into four positions only
