Our ratings (out of 10)
1 to 10, compared with the whole market. Each says what it's based on. How we score
Weight
From maker's figures 4/10How much they add to your pack. 4: A bit below average.
Berghaus lists 0.374 kg in its specifications without naming a size (its page data carries a separate, heavier shipping weight of 394 g, so 374 g is the product figure), in the 370-469 g band. Advnture's test gives the same 374 g for men's L and Tiso says 388 g for L, so M may be a little lighter; it would need to be under 370 g to reach band 3.
Rain protection
Estimate from maker's specs: hydrostatic head figure 5/10How well the fabric and seams keep out heavy, long rain, when new. 5: Does the job. Average for wild-camping gear.

In short
Good for
- Everyday wet weather, commuting and easy hill walks (Berghaus lists it for everyday, commuting and travel use)
- Free repairs through Berghaus's Repairhaus (you pay postage to send them in)
Strengths
- 12,000 mm hydrostatic head and 18,000 g/m2/24h breathability (Berghaus's figures)
- 3/4-length side zips with press studs: on and off over boots, and vented when open
- Elasticated waist with side adjusters; short, regular and long legs (regular inseam 79 cm)
- Covered by Berghaus's Repairhaus repairs
Weaknesses
- Berghaus doesn't say how the seams are finished, so rain protection is an estimate, not a reviewed score
- 374 g (weight score 4) and bulky: Advnture says they are neither the smallest nor the lightest to carry
- No pockets (Advnture) and Berghaus lists no stuff sack
- Fit and durability are estimates, not reviewed scores: only one independent test of the men's version was found
- Berghaus lists it for everyday use rather than mountain use
